Well I've been stuck at 315lbs X 1 deadlifts for about 6 weeks now, and the problem seems to be my weakling hands/grip. I have tried to hold heavy weights as long as I can to strenghten my grip, but it doesn't seem to do anything... Is there anything I can do about this?

    +1

I used to have a horrible time holding on to the bar. 315 was easy but I couldn't hold it for more than one rep. I added chalk - and now I've done 400x2 in a difference of 6 weeks.

Nope, I've thought about using it but I wasn't sure if it would help. Is chalk expensive??

Extremely, I don't recommend it unless you're going pro, it's like $50/bar and they last you about 2 weeks each.

    :ugh:

Wow thanks for being helpful, I didn't know you could buy chalk bars and use it. I thought I'd need the type of chalk used by climbers, which I know is sold in powder. Is grinding my own chalks the same thing as buying the chalk already in powder?

Cheap as fuck. I bought a chalk ball at EMS. Its used for climing. Same shit as they use for weightlifting. A $2.49 ball will last months.

At his level, he should not be using straps.

i only recommended some chaulk and/or using mixed grip, eventhough that site is mainly about straps.
