i had to stay in for lunch today at work because we're short people, so they brought in sandwiches, i've got no whey here at work anymore ( jsut ran out on friday). so in this situation would you eat the white bread and sandwich or what?

edit: it sounds like a dumb question, but i guess overall i'm asking if its best to avoid simple carbs at all costs

just eat the sandwich for christ sakes...try and avoid mayo if possible, but its a sandwich

the key is to think long term and realize that one meal or day or week isn't much in the grand scheme of things

The old analogy of when you are driving your car with GPS and you miss your turn. The voice does not give you directions to the latest cliff to drive over instead it just tells you to do a u-turn and get back on track.

Eating that sandwich is much better than not eating anything at all.

In this situation (I was in a similar one recently) do one of the following:

    1) Cut the sandwich in half and eat half at lunch and half after work so that your metabolism can make better use of it.... Or just give the other half to a co-worker and avoid eating the other half all together.

    2) Cut the sandwich in half only using half of the bread. Then, take the meat out of the second half and add it to the first half. So essentially now you have just cut half the carbs, but with the same amount of meat/toppings.
