For a last-minute programming class, I have no modern laptop at all now...

    What to do?

Yep, that's the ticket. Just picked one up at the new Upper West Side Apple Store. :)

Of course with my luck, they'll announce a 60" foldable one you can fit in your pocket that's 30x as fast and 1/5 the cost tomorrow. :o

Yeah, I know they're supposed to be updated soon (hence the use of "shit" in the thread title).

But anyway, I'm very happy with it. I have a Mac Pro as my main computer, so speed on this thing isn't going to be a major issue since all my hardcore work will still take place on the Mac Pro.

I needed a laptop now so there really wasn't any other option. I sure as hell wouldn't buy a Windows laptop or try to build a hackintosh for something I really need now.

This is for class? And MBs are going to be refreshed soon? Then don't buy a MB right now. Get a 2-3 year old machine off eBay, put a 7200rpm hard drive in it, and either put Windows XP or Ubuntu on it. That will get you through class and save you somewhere between an ass-load and a shit-ton of money that you can spend on the MB you want when it's released in a few months.

That's how it was with my iMac. Updated 3 months after I bought mine. Oh well. I still like mine. :fawk:
