Got a question. I have 3 cars. 1 for me, my wife, and then I have my sports car (that i rarely drive).

With PCS orders, will the government pay to have my 3rd car moved to my pcs (conus to conus)?

I'm sure i'm not the only one to ever be in this situation, but if they don't then how do they expect people to move their pleasure cars/bikes?

Usually TMO will ship one car overseas, if the incoming assignment allows POVs. They will store others.

Rent a LARGE trailer and make multiple trips. One with a car inside.

If you have vehicles... you are sol. You have to drive them or pay someone to ship them for you. Tell you what, send me a plane ticket and I'll drive it for you.

Edit: You do understand that they will ship zero of your three cars right?

But this is an un-reimbursed expense that he can claim in taxes.

True, if he can keep records of the move until 2008. It would be under Form 3903.

I thought I could have had my car shipped when I ETS'd. I chose to drive it home with it full of stuff rather than having the movers take everything.

If it were a bike you could actually send it with your HHG. As far as your sports car, well you can either drive it or tow it :dunno:

motorcycles used to be able to be shipped with household effects.

regular cars though you have to designate on your forms that you'll be travelling via POV and they'll give you mileage in your PCS check. Unless you're going overseas you're responsible for the transportation of POV's on your own.
