so, I want to order 500 rds, just so I can keep some 9mm on hand
problem is that I live in an apartment, so any packages I receive are actually kept at the management office (I can pick it up whenever)

anyone have any troubles and/or legal issues and/or advice and/or experience regarding your apartment management receiving ammo?

Have the post office or shipper hold it.

    i don't know, and yes.
if anyone's had an apartment manager refuse to accept an order for being too big, or not being discretely (sp?) packaged (people panic when they see 500 rds. like that guy that got busted, and the paper said he had OVER 100 rounds!), the I'd probably follow johnson's advice and...

it will be discreetly packaged. nobody sends boxes that say "AMMO!!!!" on it. It says ORD or something (can't remember the initials)

    but do whatever you want

  8. I used to have ammo shipped to my apartment all the time. The apartment manager lady knew what it was, and she didn't care.

Unless you live in a city or area they can't ship too, I don't see the problem.

The only rule is someone over 21 has to sign for it. It doesn't have to be YOU, just someone.

If you are extremely worried about it, ask your apartment complex about it.

  10. Is that an actual law? I've had ammo left without a signature lots of times. One day the UPS guy left 2,000 rounds of .223 sitting in my driveway. He was too lazy to carry it to my front door.

I don't know to be honest, just every ammo company I've ordered from has stated it. :dunno:

I've had UPS leave it without signature too but the order form still said it was suppose to be signed by someone over 21.

Most company's ship the ammo with that requirement. It depends on the carrier's driver. I get so much shipped to my house for work and my C&R that my UPS driver just signs my name and leaves the packages at the door. With Fed-Ex I don't know my driver so when the CMP delivers ammo with an adult signature requirement I have to be present to receive the package.

    1000rds - 9mm Hotshot 115gr. FMJ Ammo

too bad about the long term storage, now i don't have an excuse to shoot it more often!
hopefully it'll be enough rounds to get trained up for my CHL test (texas)

I've had ammo shipped to my apt and it wasn't ever an issue. The box said ORD and had "small ammunition" written on the box or something similar.

i know right?! but i'm totally out of 9mm, and i figure ordering and waiting 4-5 days for it to get filled, then another few days for shipping, is more reliable than going to walmart every day

You must earn a lot if your time is worth more than the $130 difference.

lol, well, it might be the fact that I work 10-13 hour days.
but it's probably more the fact that i don't want to deal with the "walmart riff-raff"- i know it sounds elitist, but my local walmart is dirty, always crowded, there's always a line at the 3 (out of 25) registers that are open. it's all around unpleasant. and they do that damn thing where they try to get you to show your receipt before leaving. god i hate that policy!
    If only target sold ammo...

oh, and i don't shoot too often, so that $130 will probably be spread out over 12-18 months...
