luckily this happened when i was downshifting from 2nd pulling into my driveway. all of a sudden it just pops out and is dangling and i just have to let the clutch out and kill the bike because i have no way of getting it into neutral.

has anyone had this happen before? i managed to get it mostly screwed back in, because i do not have the proper tool to get it tight enough (circlar pliars?)

also seems like i have no gears above 3 when i took it for a little ride around the block :ugh:

what annoys me is i just took it in for my 600 mile not even a week ago, arent they supposed to go over all the bolts and make sure everything is tight and back to factory default? looks like i paid 200 bucks for a fucking oil change :hsugh: anyways i will call them tomorrow and bring it back in for them to fix it i guess, just wondering if this is a common occurance and is it easy to fix yourself?

    that doesn't sound right...
what do you mean by you don't have the tools to put it back on... isn't it just a bolt?

heard of that happening alot on the sv forums, most ppl just put it back with some locktite with no problems, dont know why u dont have gears above 3 tho, maybe adjust the shift rod a little?:hsd:

you can almost always shift into neutral especially in 1st or 2nd gear. you can shift without the clutch you just have to put a little more strength into it but it can be done

My sv650s did the same thing after about 500 miles.
I believe its a bad job at the dealer when they pull the bikes outa the crate and assemble them.

I just used some locktite on it and wrenched it back on their.
