    You mean Boss 302???

I love the 1969 Boss 429, its my favorite muscle car. But even I will admit the GT500 is even more sweet.

    Wrong.:eek3:

They only made the Boss in 69 and 70. They made only the 302 and the 429. The 302 was made to be used in the Trans Am series of racing. The 429 was made for NASCAR but was never used. 9000 of the 302's were sold and only 1300 of the 429's.

You wanna talk about a rare Mustang? The BOSS 351 was manufactured by Ford in 1971 and 1971 only. It is honestly one of the last TRUE musclecars. In addition to only being produced for one year, it had a very limited production run of 1,806 units. The most unique characteristic of the BOSS 351 was the engine. It was based on Ford's new "Cleveland" block with the same large port, canted valve cylinder heads of the BOSS 302. The Boss 302 cylinder heads along with the "Cleveland" block combined to produce what some automotive magazines and writers have described as the "fastest production Mustang in history

I did a search seems I am wrong. There was a 1971 351 Boss. Never had heard of it before and I thought I knew my Mustangs. But it was merely a repackaged Mach 1.

The 429 is more rare with only 1300 in 2 years. A little modification to the intake and it could run in the low 12's.

Regardless it seems most of us like the Boss. Seeing as its more affordable its the one I'd like to have, I'd even settle for the 302. Heck I'd even settle for a Mach 1.

Agreed but the Boss 429 was designed to be used in the Mustang at NASCAR but it was not used, the Mustang that it is.

ford used the fairlane/torino in nascar at the time. the boss 429 was put into the mustang for image porpuses. The same year they made the torino talladega, & cyclone spoiler, more areodynamic versions to compete in nascar, & they could have used it in them(the production versions that is), but did not.
(not trying to be picky, I just have a chance to use this useless knowledge I have accumulated)
