Just got home from the specialist and he said my nose requires surgery to repair. I have a deviated septum and the nose is in pieces. I will have surgery in the next couple of weeks and will need about 6-8 weeks to heal.

The Doctor told me he wouldn't worry about making the nose look pretty since I am a fighter and all. Fact is my looks are what got me signed with Zuffa :) had I not been fighting I would of been in that fashion show in Vegas.

The question now is, does Carwin get a shot at the winner of Lesnar/Mir, or does he have to fight Velasquez first?

Either way, I'm pumped for his next fight.

we gots a finisher in the heavyweight division. Although i'd like to see him fight some more names in the division to see how he stacks up against them.

If he does that well against gonzaga i dont see toomuch trouble.

balancing training/UFC career, working a full time job as an engineer, and raising a family is a challenge most fighters cannot meet :ugh2:

exactly. but its not a task thats not impossible. Its all time management. Think of how much you could accomplish between 6-11pm. A ton if you have everything managed properly I dont see why your making that big of a deal of it. good for him working full time and being a ufc fighter. Great for him but not impossible.

fighters like fedor don't impress me at all. i mean, he does what he does just by training hard and mentally preparing himself. i don't understand why people sackride him so much. he trains and hits people. yay for him, but it's not impossible

amateurs are amateurs because they don't/can't train fulltime or can't get signed for pro fights. pretty much anybody can be an amateur

however, if a professional fighter, especially a high-caliber fighting in a bigshow, can train, have a day job, and raise a family simultaneously doesn't impress you, what does?

it's not as simple as "time management"

    word

a lot of guys in shows like KOTC might barely train at all, brawl on some Saturday night event instead of getting hammered, and go to some random job on Monday (nothing against blue collar employment)

you have to understand the extremely taxing amount of time and focus it would take to juggle a very high profile fighting career, a fairly good job, and a family with two young boys
