I'm actually going to sit down and beat this game now. I have never made it past either the 3rd or 4th colossus. :hsugh: It's not that it's a bad game. Some other game always came up. I just hear good things about the game. Does it get much better? As if it wasn't pretty badass already....

Never played Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, really hoping they both get the HD treatment ala God of War Collection before The Last Guardian comes out :hs:

It doesn't necessarily get better, just harder and more requiring of thought as the solution to each colossus becomes less apparant. If yourmind isn't already blown, don't expect some new game mechanic to come along and do it for you. The game is simply perfect as it is, I only wish there were more colossi.

i am perfectly fine with it now for the most part. i just wanted to know if it was going to blow me away even more than it already has. how long is the game? i would think it would take quite a bit longer on the harder colossi.

Currently playing through ico, I'm taking it very very slow on purpose. These games are not meant to be rushed through, they're peaceful sessions that reconnect you with the magic of gaming.

If I remember correctly my game time was something around 19 hours.

i never imagined as a child that games like this would ever come out. i like my ps3 and 360, but i find myself playing through older gen games a lot lately.

Edit: thats not to say you won't be blown away by your future colossus interactions, each sequential fight is something to marvel at, with only a few scant exceptions.

There are a couple of colossi that are somewhat forgettable, but the rest might just blow you away. 9 and 11 were epic for me, but each of them had something about them that got me going.

Take your time with it, racing from point to point will kind of ruin it.

I was kind of dumb when I played, I didn't work that hard to solve the puzzles and my little brother gave me hints the whole time. Would be nice if there was a little more content to the game besides the colossi but it would probably become cliche and shitty.

yea, i was thinking about that too. i feel like there should be more in the game but then i realize they made it that way for the tranquility, etc.

I would have loved the world to be more fleshed out with wild life as well. The place the game takes place in was untouched by humans, I find it pretty weak that they want you to assume that animals wouldn't be living there outside of birds, turtles, and lizards. :hsd:

what's the limit on the strength thing? i know you kill lizards it makes you stronger, but i killed about 10 last night and now it seems like the circle isn';t growing anymore....

I think it get get pretty huge. Only lizards with white tails can increase your strength.

Its amazing how quickly the gam time drops once you learn the quick ways to beat the colossi. Great game, worth the slow playthrough.

is it that rare of a thing to encounter the lizards with white tails? i would think you would just run around maxing your strength gauge before fighting the colossi :dunno:

Some on the backs of some structures, I don't remember but I think if you climb the massive cliff you might get one, I remember watching my brother climb that thing for like 30 minutes.

But otherwise they are fairly well hidden.
