Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\test.php on line 2

when I try the simple mysql_connect (this part i'm 100% sure I coudlnt have made a mistake since its only one line--it doesnt return a cannot connect to server, but it says the function mysql_connect() dont exist)

I keep getting that error, I already set C:\PHP in the environmental PATH, removed the ";" from ";php_mysql.dll" in both php.ini files. The MySQL is up because I used command line and I was able to create, make tables and insert data. Does anyone know what else I could do to fix this error?
