i have a desktop downstairs with a cable connection. i setup a linksys router down there. im connected to it thru my laptop. my sis just got a dell and i don't think she wireless. i saw 'intel pro/100 ve' under hardware but i think thats just a network card not a wireless card.

ahhh, so basically, what do i need. do i go with a linksys wireless card?

Well it is somewhat difficult to picture what you are describing, but it sounds like you are just trying to get your sister's laptop connected to the network.

If that is the case, and you have a wireless router (didn't catch if the linksys had wireless or not), then yes - you would just need a wireless card for your sister's laptop, any brand will do.

    wrong.

there is an intel pro/100 which is for cat5
there is also an intel pro/wireless if there is an internal wireless card.

assuming your router is wireless capable, just pick up any pcmcia card. otherwise run a cat5 to her room
