I noticed how some guys have really prodominent serratus anteriors.. and some don't.

Is it a BF% thing, or is it a muscle development thing?

EXRX suggests incline shoulder raises.. Just wondering what everyone thinks?

Should I add to my chest day? Or is it more genetic?

EDIT: I DO do the Depth push-ups though.. :hs:

I saw mine develop from heavy lat work, but It might also coinside with me becoming leaner at that time.

question on pushups for serratus anterior:

I can only really feel it when I do them with my elbows at my side and push out from there. doing wide grip pushups with my hands higher (about shoulder-height) doesn't really make me feel anything there. Is there an optimal style of pushup for working them?

It's not a muscle you're really gonna "feel." Having your feet elevated will hit the SA more.

If i'm looking at these pictures correctly, I could have sworn that muscle "felt" sore for a couple days the first time I went rock-climbing. Although, I can't figure out how that's so judging by what you said you can do to target it.

I don't feel shit there in the first place. I mean if I take one arm with my elbow at my side and extend the arm from that position with my other hand on the serratus anterior, I can feel it contract/expand with the motion.

I've never felt anything in that area in terms of soreness or tension in the same way you'd feel in your chest or lats or biceps.
