Serious retarded issue with wireless card

    Hey all

    I am having problems with my wireless card d link air plus dwl 510 wireless pci card I install the drivers and the software then it asked me to reboot reboot install the hardware, it works, but then as soon as i restart or shut down, internet will not work, they said i needed the sp1 update, but i cannot get it, so what can i do

    appreciate it

    you arn't even running sp1? wtf?

    Go download sp2 via an ethernet connection.

    winxp's wireless support went through several MAJOR changes/upgrades between the stock 2600 build (if it even had support) and sp2. I strongly recommend you download and apply it before trying to mess with it. The sp2 wireless stuff is a lot better.

    you can bypass this by slipstreaming sp2 into an XP disk.

    of course you're gonna have to reinstall everything which seems drastic but the outcome means everything will work.
