serious question: benefits to squatting 3x a week

    regarding the Bill Starrs routine. I know it's a compound movement and builds core also, but is what i've heard about building quads/hams accurate? It was my understanding that since these are the largest muscles in the body, building them up will release more test throughout the body helping other muscles build?

    i hope i'm making sense.

    More Experience
    Great exercise to as you say build the core
    Builds the Hams

    I doubt the extra test it releases or growth hormone or whatever is released would make any difference to how you look or grow. I would say the fact that you are squatting and getting better at that and strengthening/ building those muscles is what is going to make you better.

    I would say to stop listening to whoever told you that and just get into a gym and lift some weight.

    My av is so small you can't see it!
    Wed is supposed to be light day, so only 2 days of real squatting.

    well i had an assessment yesterday and the trainer asked why i did squats so much, and i rambled off a few benefits of it but they still seemed confused.

    When I was doing it, my squat when up a lot. Then it went back down quickly when I went back to once/twice a week.

    Helped me get my form down nicely and muscles built up a good tolerance to volume.

    Keep in mind it's not 3 heavy sets, the middle of the week day is supposed to be a recovery-oriented set.

    i have read that somewhere but i thought it was gh thats it was on about.....i cant remember where i read it though ...sorry

    my legs are seriously lacking due to years of neglect. im currently doing pur's workout, but could i squat 3X a week as well for even more growth or is that overkill?

    Went from 225 to 405 in 11 months. :rofl:
