I went to trade my gun in and they couldn't give me a price as the book listed everything except RRA rifles. Go figure! Anyways, a dude there asked what I wanted. I told him $1,500 for it all. He offered $1,350 cash tomorrow. Think I am getting fucked? I paid $2,300 for it a year ago. :(

You might be able to do better than $1500 via a private sale. I would expect less than 50% of the retail price if you sell it to a gun shop if it's excellent to good condition.

If $1500 was an acceptable sale price for you, maybe you could split the difference with the guy you talked to?

Actually, 1500 is probably pretty fair

Good strategy. A small investment in some standard handguards might recoup far more money.

Upon looking further, it might not be worth it

    You'll get like
    800 for rifle
    100 for buis
    150 for rail
    250 for eotech
    150 for light

Then with shipping...Problem is, you got totally jacked paying $2300 :o

Eh, if it lets him sell the rail system to someone that's set on that specific surefire rail and sell the rifle standalone, then a ~$20 handguard set might help recoup some value... but $2300 for the DEA model always seemed a tad steep.

Obviously you can find good deals online, but around here, you can't find that gun for much cheaper.
MAYBE $2k even, but not much less. Kinda sucks.

Why not keep it, it's a nice rifle

I will never laugh at how much someone spends on something like this. If you enjoy doing it and it makes your life that much more enjoyable then by all means, go for it.

its not the fact that hes spending a lot of money on something, its the fact that some of think he over paid for what he got. :dunno:

I just sold it private party. I got $1,400 cash for the gun. Dude was a tattoo shop owner.

At any rate: I have a RRA foregrip for sale. I also have a Versa-Pod tri-pod for sale which has the pic rail attachment.

$30.00 shipped for the graphite foregrip ($45+shipping new)
    $75.00 shipped for the Versa-Pod ($115+shipping new)

Well, for an RRA AR-15 Sean paid $800.00 for his. Then add a $550 EoTech, $300.00 SureFire, $300.00 GG&G rear flip up site, new grips, new trigger, Surefire Rail, etc. you still save money unless you buy used parts or get killer deals.

I also didn't want to wait 12-16 weeks for the RRA rifle and they had it in stock.

I just meant that model, its really hard to find it for under $2k in this area.
Seans is a watered down model. Still nice, but not as many goodies.

Sean's gun is only "watered down" by not having the EoTech and shit. His gun has the same grip, same trigger, same stock, he even has a better M4 barrel. The upper and lower receivers are identical.

Looks identical to this. I've had it for 4 months... barely even put my hand on it. ;)
