You could at least look at the other threads before posting. I think there's already one on the subject about two threads down.

I thought tactical shotguns were law enforement only. That's why i posted this thread.

What about a "tactical" shotgun would make it law enforcement only?

dove shotgun - benelli nova (camo)

duck shotgun - benelli nova (camo)

goose shotgun - benelli nova (camo)

squirrel shotgun - benelli nova (camo)

home defense shotgun - benelli nova (camo)

....and no, I don't have 5 novas

Go to a pawn shop and pick up a pump shotgun....When you rack a shell into the chamber in the dark "CHK CHK", the intruder will probably be gone before you have a chance to find him and shoot at him.

    :ugh:

I'm having trouble figuring out what you're basing your opinion on. Enlighten me.

I carried it all day saturday and sunday dove hunting and never felt the least bit uncomfortable with the gun. It was 98* outside so that was alittle uncomfortable, but the gun felt fine.

Instead of making fun, how about helping someone who is not as "knowledgeable" about guns as others here?

Tactical shotguns are more designed for combat situations but can be used for home defense just as effectively. I recommend a short barrel model if you want a good weapon though. trying to wield a 26" goose gun around the house is not the ideal situation. I use a Mossberg 590 for CQB and room clearing personally. as for loads, you can use just about anything but for legal reasons I recommend staying away from magnums. (if you ever have to shoot someone, you don't want to give the anti gun nuts any extra ammunition in a lawsuit)

You can also find the Remington 870 and the Mossberg 500 in home defense models. These usually come with the 18.5-20" barrel lengths, pump action without all the extra features and can be found for under 200 bucks.

The design of pump and the "checkering" (I guess you would call it) on the stock and pump both is uncomfortable.

And good god, 98 degrees :eek4:

Or instead of making fun, lil_mermaid could just go search for the billion other posts pertaining to this subject.
