I checked the phone book, and wouldn't ya know it? There's a local mold supply shop with everything you can imagine for molding or casting in about any medium. I ran down on lunch and told them I was hired to prototype some items for a fledgling bachelorette party company. Then ensued a interesting series of discussions where we danced around the issue of what I'd really be making (if there's hair involved *looks down his glasses at me* you don't wanna use THIS, hahaha) and focused on the human friendly aspects of the products available. I ended up with some ALJA-SAFE to make molds with. This is a refined powder made from sea weed. It's water based and completely human friendly. I also selected some "Dragon Skin" a two part silicone based rubber liquid that when mixed and cured gives that slightly spongy yet still firm rubber feel that most commercial sex toys seem to be made of. (I got to play with a sample and it sure felt like the same stuff.) This is the same material used for special effects. He claimed the budweiser frogs were made from "dragon skin". I opted out of the flesh tone colored pigment since it was $12 a jar. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play around and test some stuff tonight to see if it'll work.
