Lots of shootings in KC this week.
No gun, no shoot.
wait for him to point it at you, then shoot?
Depends on what IT is.
Wait and make sure it's not a stapler, then shoot.
Judgemental shooting ftw.
Yeah Oh OK...
Hold on it's dark out some dude wants to harm me and pulls out a stapler let me shine my light real quick and make sure it's a stapler before I shoot him...
Oh crap it was a gun I'm dead
prepare to draw weapon if nessasary while moving to a better position such as behind cover. If you feel nessasary to draw your weapon and you still have not identified for a fact they have a weapon or is a absolute threat you could hold your weapon at low ready. That way if they produced a weapon from their "back pocket" you are as ready as possible to try to stop the threat.
Granted the politically correct response is to only draw your weapon if you know for a fact there is a threat and you need to use deadly force to stop said threat. If you were law enforcement or armed security you would have way more leway in brandishing a weapon. If you were a private citizen and you held the weapon anywhere other than pointed at the threat it is a misdermeanor. Granted a misdomeaner brandishing a weapon is no joke either but it is not a felony which pointing a weapon would be.
Don't be sassy with me Mister Man.
If you've got the gun on target, you can light him up as soon as you see a weapon.
