well i have the TPB of secret wars, that was released in the 80s? idk but it was the first major marvel crossover.

The only other secret wars it may be refering to is the recently release 6 or 7 issue comic, right before civil war and possibly House of M

    There were 3 Secret Wars:
    1) Secret Wars: Jim Shooter wrote it to tie in with a toy line, introduced the black costume for Spider-Man, and was basically the Beyonder pitting them against each other. Probably the best out of all 3.
    2) Secret Wars II: Jim Shooter wrote it and it was a lot like Crisis on Infinite Earths in the sense that it happened on Earth and changed the backstories, etc for a lot of characters. It was ok but Crisis was wayyyyy better.
    3) 2004 Secret War: Brian Bendis wrote it, has absolutely nothing to do with the Secret Wars stories and was more of a discussion about the wars the United States has entered into post-9/11. It sucked.
