Mana Fortress song is burned into my mind from all those hours of grinding for the weapons orbs. Surprisingly still enjoy listening to it.

It's disappointing that there's very few remixes or orchestral renditions of SoM's music, although somehow everyone has the electro remix of it's intro, even people who never even played the game  Song's been floating around for well over a decade now.

Not a fan, although it's still on my ipod for some reason.

Found this orchestral medley, pretty good. Love how they started off with Prophecy, I don't think that song gets enough attention.

edit: guess this is some new thing, concert was done only a couple of months ago. there's one for chrono too. :dunno:

What was everybody's thoughts on Secret of Evermore? I know it's not related to SoM and everybody rags on it, but I didn't think it was terrible.

I always preferred Secret of Evermore over Mana. They are very different and aren't really comparable, but I thought it was more unique and bizarre, and less Japanese.

Secret of Mana is probably a "better" game, but Evermore's warm melodies > Secret of Mana.

I enjoyed Evermore a lot. Think it got a bad rap since it was the reason we didn't get Seiken Densetsu 3 over here. Overall it wasn't as good as Mana, but there were some really stand out parts in it regardless. The queen's world was very well put together as were parts of the egyptian part.

I've gotten the itch here and there to replay it but it's constantly pushed back.

If you check related vids you'll find that that ensemble has several vids up. The one I posted is part 2 of 2 for the secret of mana medley. There's another two part medley for Chrono Trigger/Cross (fairly different from the PLAY! performance with a lot more songs) and one for Final Fantasy that I haven't had a chance to check out yet. I'll check for proper releases from the group tomorrow.

I tried playing SoM a few months back for the first time and got stuck trying to kill some fucking wall boss type monster.

    Fuck that game.
