Messed up the focus on this one but I was too cold to notice.

Awesome pictures man, I'm really liking the pano and all of the car streaks.

What was the shutter speed on those?

They're not bad but they look like a stop or two underexposed.

Ya, the first and third are darker than I want them to be. I just wanted to throw those up, I haven't edited them yet. Doing that tonight to print them.

looks good, but would look much better a bit earlier in the night when there is some blue left in the sky.

where did you take the pics from? Is there a park up there or did you just find a good spot along a sidewalk?

Excuse me? Blue sky? Have you ever been to Seattle?

The bigger problem I have is how early the sun sets here this time of the year. Really hard to find a combination of a weekend with good weather. I have a shot planned for this area but I need a really clear night to do it.

It's a good place. What part are you moving too?

I'm going to try making a mammoth pano from Alki. Probably be around 80mp when I'm done.

I think I just needed to double the exposure time but I may try that too

    Thanks

    It's a park

If I had gotten the correct exposure I think I would have liked that one the best also.

NW corner of Beacon Hill, yes.

I went back out there tonight as it was perfectly clear out. Here's another pano of the city (click for larger again.)

I used my 50mm this time and I'm really happy with how sharp it came out. Here's a 100% crop of it:

I shot the tree photo again but I like the first version better. I love how the tree was a silhouette against the foggy sky. I couldn't get a silhouette against the clear sky tonight so I tried lighting it up with strobes but it just didn't turn out very well.

I also tried shooting some star trails over downtown but it's going to take some work to make them pop against the sky. Hopefully I'll post that tomorrow.

nope never been. I just think night pictures look better when the sky isn't completely black.

there has to be some point in the evening where its between daytime and pitch black, thats all i'm saying.

love the pano that you just posted,

Ya, I'm kidding. Just hard to work out the timing this time of the year when the sun sets so early.
