Season opening weekend - first 2 hockey games

    ...and I am totally NOT match fit right now. I was hopelessly dragging my legs around on the ice, like they were sacks of concrete :wtc:

    Could hardly do a single decent chase/sprint without being so out of breath immediately after, that i had to get off the ice for a quick change.

    wtf, i am drinking less alcohol, have been having more sleep, and still training/playing in the offseason :Wtf:

    I've found that nothing, except for actually playing hockey prepares you for the ice. Before one season, I had built up my endurance to be able to HIIT sprints for 15 minutes (30s on/ 30s off) and still died the first time I had to do 60 second drills on the ice. I was eating well and lifting regularly, too. :dunno:

    im beginning to think that any off-ice training im doing is useless until you are at an elite level ON the ice..
