I am surprised that I have not heard news of this any where? So Did they strip it from him?
he was granted an extension to prove his case. he has a hearing next month where a decision will be handed down.
I don't see him getting out of this though
other elite athletes have, there are studies to show you can create a false positive for it. he'll get out of it.
any way it happens, fine by me.
I hope he does get out of it, I really want to see a Penn Sherk match.
I hope penn can beat him. his style is similar to matt hughes so bj has a chance but sherk is just ungodly at 155
he screwed himself.
I hope so too. That's the rumor for the next UFC in NJ, if he passes.
did nj allow knees to the head now because i remember dana white said if they allowed that they would do more ufcs there
From my understanding, NJ does allow knees to the head, but all fights (even amateur ones I've seen) just abide by the "unification rules"
There have been false positives, but you take 2 tests, and he tested positive for both.
yeah, there would be no point in Dana pushing unified rules only to change them based on what state they are in.
I remember he said that he was concidering doing alot more shows in nj if they allowed this and use that as a way to force nevada and cali into doing the same.
We will know on Halloween.
I hope they let him off so we can see BJ vs Sherk in Dec.
I have faith in BJ, and you cant count his cardio at round 3 of a 170 to when he weighs 155. Im counting on his cardio being better due to the less weight. Round 5 though...
He reminds me of Filho minus 30 lbs, i still do believe that BJ has the tools and techniques to beat him, though. I'd like to see BJ vs Huerta or Stevenson before he advances to Sherk though. Fitch would be good too.
as i understand it two samples are taken at the same time (same urine), sample a is tested. if it's positive, sample b is tested. if both positive, then you're pretty screwed. you can still have a double false positive on both samples, it's the same one, they just test again to verify their test wasn't fucked up the first time.
Surely there has to be at least one Olympic athlete from Minnesota.
positive or not, Sherk is scary at 155. I'd love to root for BJ, but I don't know man. can BJJ > endurance + strength?
You guys say Sherk is scary!!! blah blah... Yes is has very good strength and wrestling... but he can't submit guys or strike either... He just sort of lays on his opponent until he gets decision.
