I just hooked up an external monitor to my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop, everything works great, but I'm not going to use a dual screen setup, so is there anything I can do with the laptop lcd aside from pushing it all the way down and looking shitty? (ie removing it) :noes:

i think you should just rock the dual screens, they're fun. but i guess you could pop the laptop in a corner somewhere, get a USB keyboard/mouse and use those with the external monitor? you won't even know you're using a laptop then haha

    1. Buy a monitor stand, docking station, keyboard, and mouse.
    2. Plug monitor, keyboard, and mouse into docking station.
    3. Position monitor stand above docking station.
    4. Place monitor on monitor stand.
    5. Insert laptop, closed, into docking station.
    6. You win!

There is most likely a function key on the laptop that you can press to switch screen setups. Press it until you get external monitor only.

Not sure if thats what you are asking...
