Why would you chose one over the other?? Does one hurt more than another?

My piercer (who fucking rocks) does branding... I trust him. I don't know anyone who does scarification :dunno:

I might give him a call today, what's a cautery pen? After our little chat the other night, I just keep thinking of burning flesh :hs:

my question is, why branding or scarification as opposed to ink? not to judge, just curious.

they are completely different.. thats like saying why piercings as opposed to tattoos. they both convey completely different messages. I will be getting tattoos as well, i think in all honesty the reason i have scars is because i can get them cheap, while tattoos will still cost me a fuckload.

still asking out of curiosity, not being an ass - what are the different messages conveyed by scarification as opposed to tats?

well i know plenty of people who have tattoos that wont go and get scarred. plus its a bit more of a mind over matter deal. its also more of a status symbol in a way within the body mod community

one other thing to consider is the end result
alot of the time brands end up looking white and not as raised as a well done cutting
cuttings/skin removal tend to give you that raised keloid that you may or may not be after.
branding is a slower process, if done via strike branding
cutting can be done quickly and more intricately

i can see that. i would not consider it. too scared:noes:

definitely a mind over matter, and i'm not sure i want to get my mind over that matter :mamoru:

you mean that scarification is a status symbol? because it's pretty hardcore?

saying it's a status symbol is about as right as saying the left ear is the gay ear

i myself couldn't do it. cutting or branding. it's my personal opinion (not shit talking about other's choices on the matter) that its kinda stupid to have done. plus i've seen it on people, and thought it looked hideous. i promise im not calling anyone that has it done stupid. i just dont like it.
