I have a motor I pulled out of a perfectly running low mileage 97 or 98 chevy truck a few years ago. I left it at a friends house for a couple years. I just picked it up the other day, and tore off the intake manifold, and it sure doesnt look like a perfectly running low mileage motor. Full of old gunk and grime, and one port is full of rust (possibly blown head gasket?)

Is there a way to confirm this is my motor. I have obviously the block, and can get the VIN on the truck? do I have any hope of figuring out if its mine or if he played switcheroo?

i don't know your relationship with this guy but if anyone left anything at my house for "a couple years", they shouldn't expect to get it back.
