Seriously, I hope the SB800 drops in price. I'll pick up three and ditch the 285HVs.

    how are the 285HVs?

For someone who mostly does outdoor stuff, but I occasionally feel the need for flash, and I know the on camera one sucks

Cant beat 'em for the price, but they're big, bulky, don't have power settings below 1/16th and suck batteries. They're good for what they are but just leave a little to be desired.

Sweet, I might just have to get one.

And maybe a better beamer too (I really feel when im at 300mm with my cheapo sigma 70-300, I could use more light, especially cause I need to stop down to f/8 to get good pictures) but do they make one that fits the 285HV?

No clue. You'll have to look online. The 285 does have a manual zoom head that is probably good for 50-85mm or so. I don't know the numbers but it does pretty good. FYI, the 285 is not something you want to use on the shoe of your camera - it's more suited for pocket wizards, Cactus triggers etc.

    You bet. Here's a few.

Also, don't see any BB for the 285. Though making a snoot that will do roughly the same is pretty easy. Just google "DIY Flash Snoot" and you'll get all the info you need.

    WAT :hsugh:

That says a 12mp DX Sensor. The entire point of hte D700 is so it has an FX sensor.

    :noes:

Unless in DX mode it's shooting at 12 MP? :dunno:
