I did a website for a local tattoo shop a while back, I basically took a pic and used it as a table background, then we put a gif over it and swapped names of the blank gif and the picture, it looked like you were dling the pic but in reality you DLed a 1x1 gif with transparent background. Pretty slick, twarted a bunch of people and hot linking didn't work the way they wanted too either. Only crafty people could actually get to the pics. :big grin:

The first thing you should try when the right click is disabled is press and hold the right mouse button for a few seconds. While you are holding it, the pop-up message pops-up. Press enter. The pop-up message disappears.
Now, let go of the right mouse button and voila, the right-button menu pops up.

Now for when that doesn't work, I use MWSnap.
Takes just a few seconds, and I instantly crop it to the part of the pic I wanted in the first place.

I have found drag-and-drop works well for websites that attempt to prevent you from downloading pictures. Also, it usually works for websites that attempt the transparent gif trick.

I just love how people sackride Firefox and say junk like "its so standards compliant" when it's the least compliant of the big-3. :mamoru:

And their half-assed extension are the other half of the problem.

That works for pics, but unfortunately it won't work for text.

I hate when I find an ebay listing that I want to make a shortcut for and the seller has disabled the right click, so that people can't copy his listing.
Well the short cut is in there too, numbnuts ebayers :squint:

That's where the trick I mentioned above can come in handy.

It will always take the top pic, in my case the blank gif.

Acid Two Is Not A Good Approximation For Standards Compliance.

    For the record: http://piratepenguin.is-a-geek.com/~declan/crap/acid2ff.png
Firefox has had a branch that could pass that test from at least a year ago I think, hell, I'm using it for nearly a year soon. They didn't merge it too quickly because it reworked so much. Google "firefox reflow refactoring". Just supports my first statement.

Not only has Firefox excellent standards compliance, it also renders messed up would-be-IE-only pages better than Opera, without downloading stylesheets from mozilla.org every once in a while either. That's why people don't whine about messed up pages with it.

You have a skewed view of "standards compliance" then. Opera is undoubtedly the champion of that.

Mozilla is too busy ignoring memory leaks and creating their own "standards".
