sata2 v sata1

    i want to get a motherboard that is sata1 because it uses ddr400 which i have a shit ton of already. i am going to use it as a file server and i have already bought sata2 drives. do you guys think its worth the extra money to get a different motherboard that has sata2 or is it not going to make a noticeable difference. btw the drives are going to be part of a z-raid

    no diff
    no drives today can spin fast enough to fully use the full bandwidth of SATA1 (1.5Gbs)

    only thing you should be worried about is if the mobo will recognize the SATA2 hdd.
    some works w/o problems, some needs to be set to SATA1 mode (usually involves a jumper)
