GUN Santa Finally Arrived!

Discussion in 'On Topic' started by Market Garden, Jan 4, 2007.

  1. So, two and a half weeks after ordering my new gun, I got it today. I don't have my concealed carry permit yet, so I had to wait for the background check to finish, the police station where I live (a pretty small city) was too lazy to actually look at my information on the form that was sent to them. The woman there saw the last name and recognized it from my father who just had his permit renewed, so she didn't bother doing the background check (she didn't bother to look at first name, bate of birth, SSN) After waiting another week for her to get back from vacation the guys at the gun store where I ordered the gun called her today and finally got her to run the check, which, of course, came up fine. So here's my present:

    Gotta have ammo!!

I've already put 100 rounds through it at the range today. The recoil is totally managable, not really any different from a 9mm. I can't wait until I get my new recoil spring so I can try out the hotter loads I have. 767ft-lbs FTMFW.:bigthumb:

Damn that's tempting! Today was my birthday, so I'll be getting something this weekend. I think I'm gonna go with a G19 for now.

    Anyway, congrats!

    Here comes the boom. :o

I've found the G29 is very pleasant to shoot. Shooting Corbons through my G23 actually kicks harder.

  16. Glock just started putting rails on the sub-compacts too. Now I have to find something to mount there (not for ccw, obviously.)

    oh the ironing

j/k good purchase man. I bet the 10mm in a sub compact is interesting...
Where did you purchase your HSM ammo from? I know they reload for police departments and stuff, and that it's all once loaded brass for pretty cheap, but i haven't found anywhere online that sells it? Did you buy online, or a local shop?

  19. I bought it at my local gun range. I couldn't say no to $13 per box.

  20. The 29 is long enough to get my pinky on the grip/magazine. My dad's G27 is too small for me to do it.

  21. I know what you mean. The 29 is easier to shoot than the less powerful sub-compacts because it's slightly bigger. I swear the recoil is less than my dad's full size G20.

Yeah, the G29 and G30 are closer in size to the G19/23 than the G26/27.
