Anyone have real-life experience with these? I've read theory & design concepts, however I haven't implemented one.

I was thinking about trying to set one up at home just for kicks :eek3:

Wow, you must be pretty loaded. I have setup/maintained Compaq/HP (HSG, HSV, EVA), Hitachi, Sun, and StorageTek SAN's. And played with NetAppliance, BlueArc, and Compaq/HP NAS Executor's.

One word describes these storage environments, expensive. You do understand that the interface to the server or pc needs to be wide, like a gigE HBA over glass, and cheap HBA's are 1k. That is the cheapest component to SAN/NAS.

    Have fun.
