So I got one of the coolest X-Mas prezzies ever, my uncle gave me one of his Samurai swords. I'm not sure if it's a WWII one or if it's Pre-WWII, it's in decent shape considering how old it is, except the person that owned it before my uncle didn't take care of it, there are a few chips in the blade, and the blade is dull, and shows a little bit of rusting.

I was wondering how would I polish/sharpen this blade?

    No Damascas, no care...

Seriously though, there are probably local martial arts shops that would know where to get it done.

Or ask the local Chinese food guy who's really angry and wants to slice his customers to bits!

I wouldn't try to get it refinished. If it is an authentic samurai sword it might be worth alot of money, those japs are crazy about them. The sword will lose value if it is refinished in any way.

:werd: something that old would be really valuable and a collecter's item you shouldnt do anything to it that would take away its value. you can always get i looked over to make sure what its worth and how old it really.
