Was there a downside to their LED setups? I was looking at the 50" before and it all but disappeared now, they're not making it anymore and this years models with the LED setup are only available in 61" & 67". That's far too big for my living room.

Projection is going away. No one wants large cased tvs anymore, since the price of plasma and lcd have come down dramatically. Better picture while taking up less space is what people want. I'm surprised samsung still made dlp's this year. Sony dropped out of the projection tv's this year. I give samsung another year until they are completely out.

Color accuracy also wasn't that great and the brightness on the screen wasn't uniform.

never had an issue with my old 50" samsung DLP or my current 73" mitsubishi DLP. You still get more screen size per dollar with DLP.

I'd rather pay more for quality and a smaller screen.
If I want 50" or more, I'll just buy a projector and screen.

I was looking at that TV as well (Sam 61inch LED). I decided with to go flat pannel and got the 50 inch panasonic TH50PZ80U for 1499.99 at Fry's. It is sweet and plenty big
