okay i have this samsung sd-608 dvd drive that I got from a friend cuz he didnt need it anymore, and when putting it in my computer it hasnt worked....like it wont read CD's or DVD's when I put them in. I've been reading online places about it having problems with windows xp or something like here: http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/drivers/123/123148.htm
    or http://www.totallydrivers.com/forum/thread.asp?id=5646

but on that cdrom drivers place i found several things about the sd-608 and was wondering what to do with each
here is the list of samsung stuff on that website with quite a few on the sd-608
    http://www.cdrom-drivers.com/companies/911.htm

edit: one of those in the list of samsung drivers just has a cdrom.sys file. would i just replace my current one with that?

    thanks for any help
