Tricep extensions (seated and lying down) were my favorites, but I recently found a bunch of forum posts on T-nation saying they can lead to elbow tendonitis. :hs:

Anyone know of any safe substitutes?

    Agreed.

I assume that's what's causing the pain in my left elbow whenever I put it on a hard surface.

Apparently, close grip bench press can lead to the same thing. oh press?

I stopped doing those b/c they hurt my shoulders.

well i diddnt really mean it in a mean way lol. but really is there any trisep exersize that doesnt put strain on your elbow. lower you wieght a bit if its too hard on your elbows. just train within your limits. i know what you mean though. i trained my forearms too hard and ended up having to take it real easy on my wrists for a few weeks because of it

my elbows hurt when i start my reverse-grip skullcrushers... but after the first couple of reps, i'm fine :dunno:

these, though, i wouldn't recomment... especially if normal tricep exercises hurt

You can tendonitis doing any exercise if you're over working it. I don't do any heavy lifting and I have it in my shoulder from yoga. :(

I hate reading this articles, and I hate people telling me that shit is bad for me in the gym. Like today, I was doing my bent over rows, this guy stops me in the middle of my fucking set to tell me how bad they are for me. LIKE WTF!

All my triceps work is done through pressing movements. If I want something extra, maybe I'll do something like pushdowns. Don't over think it. Also, if you can do extensions, they're a decent exercise; just keep the reps up to keep less strain on the elbows. Read BDR's guide to elbow/forearm health.

yeah, stop taking everythign the douchebags on t-nation say as the bible. This is along the same lines as overhead pressing, when you don;t bench shit, and you are weak, you need to do what gets you strong.
If you have elbow problems, read the post int he archives.

    o. i thought overhead pressing made shoulders healthier (as opposed to someone who benches only)

Decline skullcrushers and close grip bench are probably the best two tricep exercises in existance.
