Safely controlling hunger

    Last time i tried anything for hunger/appetite suppressing was epineprhine etc. basically amphetamine like effects. fucked with my heart, wasnt a big fan.

    anyway, im trying to lose 5-10 lbs in the next month or so

    strength training 4x week
    HIIT 25 minutes 4x week

    but my main issue is i get crazy hungry in the evening.

    i would really like to keep my calories ~1300 but keep on hitting 1800 etc because of late afternoon/evening hunger strikes.

    any advice/help is appreciated

    I usually keep a lot of salad around. When I start getting hungry I just start eating salad or mixed vegetables it will keep my hunger at bay for an additional hour or so.

    drink 2 gallons of water a day.
    Chew gum (for about 10-20 mins. A short gum break will stave off hunger pangs, chew it too long tho and it'll just make them worse.)

    but 1800 calories a day with intense workouts is a better idea than 1300 cals with intense workouts. Really, it is.

    (if you do manage to lose that weight eating 1300 cals a day you will probably shut down your metabolism and next thing you know you'll be gaining weight--bad weight--while starving yourself on 17-1800 cals b/c you've killed your metabolism)

    LOLWUT epinephrine?

    Anyways, 1300 is low. Even 1800 is low. What is your height/weight now? What is your motivation for losing 5-10 lbs in the next month? Just because?

    HIIT and strength training 4X a week will be draining, especially on your expected caloric intake. Water and fiber can help curb your appetite. You could also use will power to not shovel food into your mouth.

    5-10lbs isnt a lot. just throw some low intensity cardio (20-30mins) after lifting and you should be fine. Hell, I can fluctuate 10lbs a week with adjusting my carbs and water intake.

    if that does work, try what Maine said

    Fuck, I eat 1300 calories alone for breakfast. :wtc:

    What are your stats that you can't lose 5-10lbs on a 1300 daily caloric intake?

    thats why i said for 10 mins. For 10 mins, for me, it'll usually chase the hunger away for about 30-45 minutes following. But if you chew it for longer you'll just get hungrier.

    This is a bad idea. How about eat 2000 Cals a day and take an extra couple weeks to achieve your goal and be healthy.

    OR just get meth habit.

    im 5'7-5'8 @ ~175

    Bodyfats @ 13-14

    Want to get cut.. like 10 or less BF % . To do that i need to lose 5-10lbs [or more, but ill be satisfied if I drop 10 lbs of fat for sure]

    Also, my bad about the calorie estimate.

    On the days i Weight Train and do HIIT, trust me, i get enough calories and they are spaced out to 5 meals.

    I was just guesstimating..

    Basically overstated the decrease in metabolic rate with dieting.

    nibble on veggies all day and chug lots of water. write down exactly what youe at and know exactly how many calories you're eating. big difference between 1300 and 1800 calories.
