I have more than $500 in my account and I want it all now, but without giving them my SSN (or a CC :wtf: ) I can only withdraw $500 per month max.

Is there a downside to giving them my SSN? Can they fuck up my credit rating or something if I do?

Hellz no, dude these guys have no problem robbing you just because someone said you scammed them, you give them your social security #, and they'll probably take the money out of your 401K

No other way around it unfortunately.

Maybe you can request a check?

I agree. They're a large company so it shouldn't be a problem. I've used them for a few years now and haven't had any problems so far.

Edit: Just realized this is my first post =]

Well I can link up a Credit Card to my account but that sounds like even worse of an idea.

Checks are limited to $500 per month, too.

I've been reading PayPal horror stories for the last hour and now I'm scared I'll never get my monies :noes:

I gave them mine, I have over 7k in different PayPal accounts and have had no problems with them. However, I would say that the credit card route wouldn't be bad if you were worried. If anything, your credit card company will have your back.

Paypal is fine if you cover your bases and do it right. They are owned by eBay, which is a publically traded company. If you open yourself up to scammers, then thats what happens. My friend lost a pair of last years Stanley Cup Finals hockey tickets because he transferred them electronically. Paypal doesn't protect against that and the buyer probably knew that.

FWIW, I've never had an issue either.

Fuck paypal. I Paid for a 9 server lot on ebay in the end of September. Was fucked by the seller and got the "yup, you won the dispute, but we can't get your money back..." from paypal. Glad I only use my amex for this shit. 30 second phone call to my concierge and it was handled. PP canceled my account for doing it, but fuck them.

I've never had a problem with Paypal but I mostly just use it for receiving money, linked it to a standard bank account (setup purely for this) and use their normal "transfer out" when I need cash.

I've read a lot of horror stories though.. but I think it's mostly just about covering your bases. I'd never buy anything online from someone I didn't trust anyway (eg random dude on Ebay etc)..

Make a 2nd account. When you hit the 500 withdrawal limit on one, use the other, which is tied to a diff bank account, and/or is a premier account.
