Well it's becoming almost a yearly tradition now for me to go over to South Africa and hunt so I'm looking into buying a rifle. My two picks are either a 7mm or a 300 mag. Both are comperable loads that will bring down that I'm hunting so I'm just wondering which guns you prefer that use this load. Pics would be nice as well and I prefer the woodstock.

I'm a big fan of Brownings, either an A-Bolt or a BAR if you're looking for a semi automatic, but I think the new redesign looks like ass.

A friend of mine just found a Steyer 7mm Dual trigger and we have shot it quite a bit. It is pretty accurate so far, have not tested it at long ranges yet. Has a bit of kick, and the barrel get extreamly hot after a few rounds, as the barrel is pretty thin. Other guns (Sniper Grade) have the thicker barrels so they won't heat up as quickly. I like the dual trigger design as trigger pull is a not issue with accuracy, on the front trigger it is almost a hair pull. If you have not shot a dual trigger design I would suggest it.

They have quite possibly one of the ugliest stocks you'll ever see.

Surprisingly enough, Browning isn't offering it with a BOSS (muzzle break).

I've got one on my .243 :mamoru:

It doesn't just help with recoil, it's an "accurizer" of some sort, It does some shit with the harmonics of the barrel, making it more stable or something. I just think it looks

Hell year it is. I have never shot an abolt, but would get one just for the smoothness

Tikka T3's are really smooth, but they're smooth to the point that they feel like they're broken, it's weird. The bolt just kinda falls out. :hsugh:

I'm looking into the $1,000-1,200 range with a scope. So I'm figuring about 800-900 for just the gun itself.

As a rule of thumb, the optics should cost half the price of the gun :hs:

    He doesn't need a 600 dollar scope.
