mine opens all fucking links in a new page instead of a new tab even though 'open links from applications: in a new tab in the current window is selected'

I could of sworn this never happened with 3.1.

My computer seems slower after it...
3.x series it was nice and snappy, the 4.0 beta same thing...
installed 4.0 final and shit has slowed... kinda annoying...

Is it your whole computer or just when Safari is open?

I feel like since installing safari 4.0 (and I didn't have these problems with the beta) I see the beach ball spinning every 15 seconds. My MBP runs like absolute garbage.

It ran like suck on the initial release, but the latest patch seems to make it run a little quicker. I've been hitting tab-return to jump down to the "post quick reply" button.

on my intel, the beta screwed up my finder (sometimes i couldn't get into some folders using the "Open" command in certain programs), the whole system would slow down for no reason , on the final release, the computer is all fine and peachy...

on my ppc, the beta was nice and fast, on the final release, my computer feels like its slowed down over all, like everything... sucks cause i use this one more since it's my laptop :(

Safari has always sucked with GIFs. They load insanely slow and never play at the correct speeds.

    seriously, do that DNS thing...
it's basically changed this browser for me, in the past 3 hours i'm basically back to beta speeds... honestly i have no idea why changing the dns has made such a big difference but it has...

Thanks, i'm going to try this when I get home. I've also had DNS issues that I can't quite narrow down to my router or my computer and it has been an issue since I switched "who" provided service to me through TWC. It wasn't Safari specific though...

The only thing that keeps me from Safari 4 is the gif problem

DNS seems weird. Other issue is that some providers aren't allowing you to change your DNS sever as they believe doing so will eliminate many spam and botnet issues (which is true but isn't the right solution to the problem).
