had a hell of an awesome time down there this past week.

40D and 100-400 on most everything. 24-70 on some of the closer stuff.

I think my camera is out of whack a little ... none of these were really that sharp (tried using a smaller aperture ... maybe f8?), and that's with both lenses. :dunno: ... if it's under warranty, can i send it to Canon to have them verify the body is as accurate as it can get (and if not, fix it)?

lensrentals.com has been great so far. they shipped when they said they would, and reply to emails very quick.

Thanks! it's a BITCH trying to point the center focus point at an animals eyes in a moving/bouncing vehicle when there's tall grass around. it was pretty much a crapshoot if it would focus on the animal or not

They look PLENTY sharp to me. Only softness I see in any of them is from slow shutter speeds.

thats what i see, show us a "bad" one for example, thats not due to slow shutter

    Very nice!

If the foreground in #1 were sharper, that'd be an ever better pic than it is! Good stuff.

I agree. Still a great shot even so. I love the 100-400L......I rent it from my local camera store all the time. Probably could have bought myself one by now with the rental charges. :hsd:
