This weekend I am hoping to sell my 1911 to get a 9mm to possible future carry, I was thinking of getting a Glock 19, but I have big hands and I would have to get a mag extension since my pinky hangs off the end.. now looking online and thinking of my XD (are a little cheaper and you get the gear pack with them) i used to have and seeing posts of someone who recently bought a bitone XD.. I am thinking maybe I should get one of those. the 4" service model fits in my hand very nicely, and I loved the XD40 I had, wish I wouldnt have got rid of it. Also thinking if I am missing out on some other pistols for $500.. saw Taurus 24/7 OSS or the Taurus 1911 in 9mm (like the 1911, just ammo is too expensive so I never shoot it) and the 1911 is larger and harder to carry.

    Anything else.

Does anyone know with the size of the 3" XD subcompact how the size of that is compared to a Glock 19 or is it closer to the GLock 26?

4" model I was looking at

It also have an available mag extension that is suppose to give it 5 more rounds and a longer grip.

I think I am going to buy something saturday of my deal goes through.
I thought about finding a range locally and try to rent both, but not sure if i can be patient enough :big grin:

I looked at G17 but the barrel and everything is full sized, but I am not sure how it would relate to a 4" XD, I think its still bigger

I'm not sure which glock I held but it was too small for my hand and I don't have big hands. The 4" XD compact is not all that much bigger than my 3" SC oh yea and pics for reference

My wife has tiny hands and prefers the XD to Glocks (just holding them at Academy.) She qualified for her CHL on a rented XD9 but she wants to test out a Glock before making her final decision. I have my buddy's G23 while he's out of town so we're going to take that to the range when my wife gets home from vacation. :)

I don't like how thick my XD9 SC is for CC. But it's hard to hide anything when you're 6'1" 150lbs.

I thought 1911s were easy to conceal and carry because of how thin they are. :dunno:

They are, but it's entirely dependant on body type, holster, belt and wardrobe.

I have Glocks, M&P and XD's. I carry them all but if the SHTF the Glock would be on my hip as primary. It will eat anything you put in it. My M&P will not and the XD has not given me any problems yet but the Glock is proven..
