    Can't decide, any help?

    :)

G11 and S90 look very similar...I know nothing about the LX3. Anyone have any of these? Coming from a d300 then a G10 what should I go for. Just want a small camera with great IQ and ISO performance and manual controls to mess with.

Love my s90 so far. Sorry i can't really compare it to other compacts. Haven't owned one in years.

Sample pics would be nice and what is it that you love about it?

How is the low light (ISO) performance? how about depth of field (bokeh)?

How easy (intuitive) is it to use and how is the meter on the camera?

    thanks :)

no im on the fence about buying one. i dont really need a digital camera at all, but this looks kinda fun and has novelty factor
well a compact with a fixed lens has a fixed lens. its pretty straightforward.
it seems to work with just about every mount to infinity, c mount, 4/3 mount, m mount, in other words very versatile for a compact. it is a compact and should not be used for pro work, but it seems to do well at what it does. its kit lens is also excellent.

I am going to go the G11 route, the s90 isn't for me and the G11 IQ and iso performance looks great :big grin:

For a p&s, the lens is pretty bright. Combined with the I.S., you can shoot at lower ISO in darker environments than most other compact cams, though the performance at even ISO800 is not bad at all should you require it.

    aperture:F/2.0
    shutter: 1/25
    ISO: 800

    aperture:F/2.0
    shutter: 1/30
    ISO: 125

    aperture:F/2.0
    shutter: 1/8
    ISO: 200

Those were all hand-held shots, so as you can see by the relatively slow shutter speeds, the I.S. does its job quite well IMO.

    Two more ISO800 shots:

I just bought an LX3 and took it to europe, I will post some pics from it later, I love everything about it, especially the wide 2.0 lens, except the noise. IMO it is UNUSABLE above iso 400.
