So, unfortunately, it looks like I'm going to have to get out of the DSLR game for a few months. School and other things have gotten in the way financially and I really don't need to own a couple grand worth of gear that I don't use but every few weeks. I'm trying to get ahead on payments on the s2kizzle so that I graduate nearly debt free. Also, I'm finding that I'm not in love with photography as much as I used to be - I decided I actually hate taking pictures of people - it just stresses me out. I enjoyed photography the most when I was more of an explorer.

    As such, I have relegated myself to a nice P&S - namely the S90, G11, G10, or G9.

Which one would you guys go for and why? I'm looking to spend around $500 or less. The advantage of the G series would be the hotshoe so I could still do some OneLight stuff when I felt like pulling out my Arias card. The s90 would be nice with the f/2 lens for shallow DOF and low light stuff. Which to pick though?

If anyone is interested in my DSLR stuff, let me know. I'll be posting my D300, grip, 80-200 f/2.8 AF-S, 17-35 f/2.8, Tokina 12-24 f/4, and 35mm f/2 up for sale here in a few days.

Less gear = more satisfaction from my pictures. No portraits = no stress.

sucks man... But at least you've found out what you like to shoot...

Gimme some prices on everything. My shooting partner has been looking for some of that stuff for a bit now, might be able to get him to take a lot of it...

But it is christmas, so i'm not sure what his budget is like right now...

S90. The front multi-fuction ring thing is just too cool. And the screen on the G11 makes me nervious. That hinge feels kinda cheap.

Yay let me spend money on stuff I don't need.

oh and car payment while going to school is the worst possible punishment a student can get.

I would say get a used G10, can be easily had for $300 now days.

    Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (Opera/9.80 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.2.13918/1128; U; en) Presto/2.2.0)

S90 is awesome. If i'm going to have a p&s, it may as well fit in my pocket.

:werd: that S90 is really slick. Like the OP, I hardly shoot anymore, just not as into it, especially as school takes up more of my time. Might get rid of everything but the film gear, and get an S90 to bring with on urban exploration trips.
