picked up a 686-6 w/ 2.5" barrel yesterday....it was slightly used but i looked it over closely and even compared it next to a brand new one they happened to have right next to it in the case and it looked fine. only shot a couple of cylinders through it so far but i like it alot. Seems to have very low recoil even w/ full power .357 loads.

do any of you guys have a 686? how do u like it? anybody w/ the 2.5 inch model?
Oh yea quick question...is it fairly typical of smith revolvers to have the inner surfaces of the frame to be slightly dull and lightly discolored? i noticed that alot of smith revolvers dont exactly have an even finish, or shiny for that matter on alot of em. any input?
regardless its a nice lil piece : )
    hopefully itll serve me well

I have a 4" 686 and I love it (and no, they don't polish the inside surfaces.)

k i thought so....ive already decided on a set of jerry miculek wood grips and a trigger job ala my local friendly gunsmith...even though the trigger is quite nice on it already...the SA pull is very crisp and light and the DA is smooth and consistent and not too heavy:)

Id like a ruger gp100 in the future
