My 17 year old sister shot one with no problems.

Do you honestly think they would mass produce it if it was dangerous to the user?

    :hsugh:

There are plenty of large bore rifles that can and do cause serious injuries to their users

    To the user, dipshit.

Of course its going to be dangerous if your down range. But they are not going to make a gun that does more than bruise you a little bit as long as your using it correctly.

it will sprain your wrist, bruise your palm, if you hold it like a girl

if you don't limp wrist it, you will be fine

Fired the emergency survival one in 2.75" and that was not fun. No way could you pull off a quick follow up shot with that.

    8 3/8" (some people call it 8 1/2", last I checked S&W refers to it as 8 3/8")

    Compensated out of the top

No I mean is the snub 500 really easier to shoot than the airlight magnum? :big grin:

Hell yes I'd carry one IWB, that'd be hilarious to show people ;)

oh, completely. The 500 is a dream to shoot with a meaty, but pleasant recoil that you can feel in your gut. The airlight is sheer terror. I was letting a bunch of guys shoot it, and it was a 1 shot then pass type of thing. No one wants to shoot it twice.

    The 500 is compensated though.

:big grin: I have yet to try the 500, I've heard some people describe it as wrist pounding fire it once and then put it down kind of gun. I think I'd quite like one, at least when I can reload and feed it. I'm thinking about a 460xvr though. It seems like it'd still give me the retardedly powerful handgun with the option of shooting something easy to find like .45lc or even .454 casull.

    Now there's your snub....

I can believe it without problem. I don't even like +p .38's out of my airweight :big grin:

actually yes, I'd rather have the .460, but they seem to be harder to find used. That one in the pic is the bear kit gun which is even shorter (the standard .460 is 5" I believe, and that's like 2.5 or 3). The bear kit guns are not compensated though, so I'm betting it's a whole different ball game  (I still want one :hs:)

2.75" :big grin: It'd be really neat to compare it to a longer barreled comped 500. $1000 gets you entire bear kit. If its good for bears its gotta be good for meth heads :big grin:
