If I were to buy a non-Glock poly it would be an M&P.

One of my USPSA buddies went from a Glock to a CZ to an M&P and his only complaint about the M&P out of the box was the trigger and OEM barrel... apparently the stock barrels don't reliably stabilize 147gr bullets without a lot of load tweaking.

Wow I did not know that, it looks like s&w used a 1/16 twist in it instead of the far more common 1/9ish. That certainly takes it down a notch in my eyes.

"Performance Center"? how does that compare to a regular M&P?

hrmm. does that make the reset more distinct?

Ive only dry fired the M&P Pro model which has the performance sear and the trigger pull is a lot smoother and lighter.

I have the 3.5# connector and ny-1 spring in my G19 and the pull is firm until the break with a crisp reset so i'd imagine that his setup would feel the same. The parts for the Glock cost me $15.

Well 6.5 lbs sounds like a heavy trigger to me. I'm not really sold on the M&P. That STI rebranded gun GP6 is really interesting. Good trigger. I'm holding my judgement until I can put live rounds down range with it but it's been getting a lot of hype. It does dryfire real nice though.

If memory serves, you could buy about six and three quarter M&Ps for the price of that Kobold :mamoru:

theres no hype about it. we got our first batch oct 30th, and betwen that and jan, we sold over 50 of em. Great guns, great reset, and after "breakin" the trigger breaks even lighter.

i recently just sold mine, but not because of performance. long story short, i was at a john farnam defensive handgun class, was carrying the gp6 as backup, threw it down to transition to blade, dirt/grass/crap got mixed up on the bbl and other parts of hte gun, wouldnt cycle properly after that. with it being a rotating bbl, requires more upkeep the the avg glock.

i put well over 7k rnds through mine without any problems. few customers had problems with the main pin walking out, one gun had the safety lever blown off (shooting reloads, could of been the ammo) and after a while the slide would drop forward on its own when you slam in a full mag.

STI has given up on CA, and they have other versions coming in 2nd or 3rd quarter.
