I am having trouble trying to connect my computer to my T.V. I bought a s video cable and have it plugged into both the computer and tv. I turn the tv to the input for s video and I don't get a signal. I am using windows xp. Do I have to change something on my control panel to be able to see the display on the tv ?

from teh recommendations on my laptop
    • Change the display settings to 800 x 600 before starting; you need to do this since most TVs will not support higher resolution settings.
    • You need to make sure that the video format selected on your computer is the same as the video format required for your television.
do you need to be concerned with those?

Thanks for the help I figured it out.

I needed to allow the computer to display a secondary monitor/screen.
