the problem with powerlifting is that people don't want to watch a bunch of fat guys do quarter squats in bulletproof suits
I can agree with that. But the sport is also never going to be accepted by the mainstream with gear at the level it is at. Personally, I have no problem with using gear -- if you want to compete in APF/AAPF you have to be geared up, but I'd like to see a general set of rules for all federations. hell, fuck federations - raw and geared, tested and non tested. No APF, APA, USAPL, etc
he sounds like hes a little sad because he no longer has the bench press record.
Nah it's not really about that, one of his freinds got whited when they should not for bench and he told that judge that he will not work anymore of his meets.
this just in, new bench shirts that protrude 12" from your chest, now allowing your bench press range of motion to be a mere 2.5"!
Im sure he has been on the favorable end of judges mistakes.
I still find his complaining to be pretty lame.
I think Grouch and I were talking about this before, but it would be great if RAW PLing leagues were more popular.
Sure it'd be less weight, but that would make it THAT much more awesome.
Message from Kieran Kidder about the state of the WPO
I'm hoping the Atlantis Foundation succeeds
interesting corporate approach. prolly smart if its also coupled with health (gpp, 'healthy' diets, etc) benefits as well...
Thanks for the note sweetheart hope the couch was ok.
ceaze i couldnt agree any more with you
But the main source of cash for pl meets, equipment manufacturers have no interest in that.
Gene had to cut out a raw division in powerpalloza because of that
wow. i have a newfound respect for you.
Did you read any of the stuff i emailed you?
sumo wrestling is a glamorous show. pl meets come across as unorganized, and there isnt any 'glory' in watching the guys. its a hit or miss lift, sort of like watching a college event where everyone is up for qualifying. theres no 'finals', no 'challange round' etc. you know? nothing exciting there to wake up the minds of the reality show americans.
i think its a great form of working out, and serves a great purpose, but having the meets the way they are is like having a bunch of carpenters standing around and hammering in nails for competition. then again, i guess thats why strongman comps are so much more popular, like you said.
care to forward some over to me?
IM me with your email addy
thanks man, i can barely walk 10 steps without having to stop for a breather
I love the fact I am getting a lot stronger but I miss the 6 pack and being able to leap all over the place but I have goals I want to accomplish and if it takes me twice as long because I'm playing rugby or wrestling in order to stay in shape then so be it.
Or for that matter, Gogz when he decided it'd be a great idea to bulk past 300, which ended up fucking him over.
Of course he was getting in better shape and dropping some weight recently before his little accident.
i think what chris was getting at is the same shit i was talking about in this thread
speaking of which... EFS sells half foam rollers as well, would it be more useful/beneficial to just get the full roller?
