Anyone got any recommendations? Not leaving for another 3 weeks 'till basic, but I'm looking to get new glasses for everyday use for after basic. Mechanical aptitude. :o

    Don't.

The military will provide you with a set of BCGs in basic.

Then when you get out of basic, you can go to the optometrist and pick out some decent frames. Depending on how old you are, you may even qualify for eye surgery.

    I am assuming AF basic.

I just got a new pair a few months ago. They have more of a selection since I first came in. As for the eye surgery, I just started my work up today, and now my package is sent to Keesler. Now I just wait for an email from them.

I cant see shit right now, damn eye dilation

Didn't they just change their policy on this? It used to for 21 or older....now it's 18 and older, right? Just what I heard. :dunno:

I don't know. I had it when I was 21. I no longer work at Keesler, so I can't just wlk down there or ask around.

Yes, it's about a 6 month wait in San Diego from what I hear.
