I work at a mazda dealership and here in the last 3 days we've had six RX-8's towed in. All with fouled up spark plugs, in need of oil change, wont start ect. And to find out, All of it can be avoided if the drivers rev the engine up before turning it off.

I wasnt too sure on the explanation the one tech gave me, he said it floods the engine and messes up the plugs if you don't rev it up. :dunno: Anyone else know exactly why?

i'm not familiar with the layout of the engine, but looking at this page: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine.htm the spark plugs are on the side. If the engine gets flooded then I dont see how it can spark. But I dont know what would cause that or why reving would prevent it

Once again, mazda is far from a quality automobile, and I'm not suprised their new car is junk too

Revving the engine before shutting down isn't going to do shit.

They are flooding because of dumbass owners.

Bingo. I've flooded my 83 once, then I've never flooded my 91.
